We're reviewing the Management Plan for Monument Hill Reserve in Kilmore.

Feedback from the initial community and agency engagement has informed the development of a draft document.

Council is now seeking submissions on the draft Monument Hill Reserve Management Plan 2024-2034.

Monument Hill Reserve is one of Mitchell Shire's significant bushland reserves. The Reserve holds environmental, social and cultural values for the Shire as a conservation reserve and passive recreational area and is recognised for its high conservation and landscape values.

The Reserve is a 76-hectare parcel of natural bushland located east of the Kilmore town centre and is home to several rare and threatened species.

The Monument Hill Reserve is crown land and the Taungurung Land Use Activity Agreement applies. As such, Mitchell Shire Council is collaborating with the Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action and the Taungurung Land and Waters Council during the review and update of this plan.
